Bei meinen Streifzügen durch Arles finde ich alles. Alle Hauswände und freien Flächen sind besetzt mit den Ausdrucksformen des Underground. Selbst auf den Flächen kurz oberhalb des Rinnsteins finde ich noch superschöne Kleinode. (siehe Foto) Da muss man sich zum Fotografieren schon auf den Boden legen. Wohl dem, der ein ausklappbares Display an der Kamera hat.
Gefühlt eröffnet in Arles alle 10 Minuten eine Galerie mit photografischen Werken – rund um die Uhr. Tolle Sachen sind dabei, zB original Prints von Josef Koudelka (der Zigeuner, der mit dem Schimmel spricht), allerdings auch viel Kommerz. Man hat in Arles jede Möglichkeit zu lernen, gut von mässig zu unterscheiden. In allen Gassen stehen Gruppen von bestens gelaunten Menschen mit einem Glas Wein in der Hand. Die Kenner der Artscene - zumindest bestens informiert über die besten Vernissagen.

Beautiful gems can even be found just above the gutter. (See photo) You have to stretch out on the ground to get the picture. A fold-out display is a real asset.
It feels like there is a gallery of photographic art opening every 10 minutes in Arles – round the clock. They are full of great finds, like original prints by Josef Koudelka (the gypsy talking to the white horse), but there is also a lot of commerce. In Arles you have every opportunity to learn to differentiate between good and average. In the alleys, people in high spirits stand around holding glasses of wine. The connoisseurs of the art scene – they know all about the best openings.
